'Will & Grace' actress Megan Mullally Says there's a 'good chance' the show will return
Will & Grace fans may have been received their fix this September when the cast of the Emmy-winning TV show reunited for an election-themed mini-episode, but it might not be the last we see of of Will, Grace, Jack and Karen!
In a new interview with PrideSource, actress Megan Mullally, 58, who played Karen Walker hinted that there was “a very good chance” that the show would be returning again in the future!
“All I can say is that there is a very good chance that that might happen. It’s not happening right this second. I mean, we’re not rehearsing or anything like that,” she said.
“But there is a very good chance that something is going to materialise.” That “something,” she added, could mean “coming back to NBC for 10 episodes,” though she stressed that she was only “speaking theoretically [and] in a completely made-up world.”
When PrideSource pressed her for details, Mullally didn't give too many details away, but noted that the show’s all-inclusive message would be very relevant following Donald Trump’s election victory. “I mean, it couldn’t possibly be better timing,” she said. “I think more so now than even when we started!”
Mullally reflected on her time on the sitcom and admitted that “words can’t really describe” how proud she is to have been a part of a series that in some way pioneered a positive and realistic portrayal of LGBTQ people on television.
“To have been a part of a show that actually not only helped people come out to their parents, or to come out period, or to not to feel like they were alone [was great],” she said. “I’m not saying ‘Will & Grace’ is responsible for gay marriage; I’m saying that maybe there was an element that helped in some way.”
