In fact, the 31-year-old was forced to miss key family milestones, such as his son, River’s fifth birthday and the launch of 44-year-old Megan’s new business venture.
Earlier this month, Australian Survivor viewers witnessed Shaun break down after receiving a video message from Megan.
"Hello, friend. How are you?" the brunette beauty began.
"The kids miss you so much, and I miss you so much. I knew that I would, but I think I underestimated just how much I’d miss you … This is my third take at doing this because I just keep sobbing, so I’m going to try and get through this without crying," Megan said, bringing on tears from a watching Shaun.
"I love you, I miss you, I can’t wait to see you again. Go for it, baby!"
Shaun – who also shares daughter, Rosie, 23-months, with Megan also recently spoke about his staggering 11-kilo weight loss as a result of the Network 10 show’s punishing diet.
