2020 has been a tough year for many - especially for those living in Melbourne like Carrie.
Along with partner Chris Walker, and her children Ollie, 13, Evie, five and Adelaide, two, spent a lot of the year in lockdown so Carrie's haircut was also a symbol of freedom.
“It’s probably why, without even thinking about it, that with the tattoo and cutting my hair, I just want to be a bit more carefree,” she said.
“I don’t throw caution to the wind very often and I’d like to do that a bit more.”
Carrie debuted her new do in the most 2020 way ever with a hilarious TikTok and fans went crazy for her hair.
“Yes Carrie!! Looks amazing!” one wrote.
“OMG LOVE!!!!💕💕💕💕” added another.
Her former fellow Project panellist Lisa Wilkinson penned: “Fabulous!!!”
Beauty guru Zoe Foster Blake summed up our thoughts entirely, remarking: “Now THIS, THIS is a haircut. 15/10.”
Due to the pandemic, Carrie was unable to celebrate her 40th with a big bash but shared a photo of herself celebrating in her backyard with a balloon that read: "Covid fkd my birthday."
Thanking fans for the birthday love, the Project host wrote on Instagram: “Not the big 40th party I had planned due to Covid...but after such a weird year I just feel so grateful to have my health...and I really felt all the love from my beautiful family and friends yesterday.
“Thanks Chris and the kids for making it so special. I’ll put on my dancing shoes next year and have a 41st instead!!!! Gotta mark these moments in life. Means I get to stay 39 for another year:) Thanks to my cheeky friend for the balloon.”
