Heba Thorisdottir, the makeup artist behind Margot’s incredible looks in the film recently spoke to Allure about the products used - and we’re running to buy them.
"After I read the script, my thought was I want gritty and dirty. And lots of sweat,” she explained.
“[Chazelle] didn't want the [’20s] skinny eyebrows and little bow lips. [In party scenes], Margot had the Studio 54 look as if it happened in the '20s.”
“Character-wise, she didn't know how to do makeup, but she might have lipstick. [Thorisdottir mixed Charlotte Tilbury Scarlet Spell with Smashbox Bawse for Robbie’s look.] Even though she looks a little more modern than the 1920s, the background and everything that's going on around her kept her in that period."
