The lavish party was held at the Camperdown Commons' Acre Eatery in Sydney's inner west and was attended by the couple’s friends and family, as well as several MAFS stars, including Heidi, Elizabeth, Cyrell, Mick, Melissa, Billy and Bronson.
"There were a lot of people there -- it wasn't as if our wedding is going to be as big, it was more a celebration of people we've met along the way as well, and who've had our back and been our friend and been so supportive on our journey from day one," Jules explains of the guest list.
"It's why we had people like [journalist] Shelly Horton -- she was actually invited before she ended up interviewing. It's people like that who have become friends, who we really respect, and we get along well with. That is why there were people from that world there."
The couple do acknowledge that they had assistance in making it the night of their dreams. "We had help. We had some wonderful people that reached out and got involved, which was amazing," says Cam, 35. "We really appreciate that and it made the party spectacular, but it was a combined effort."
Jules admitted she’s baffled as to why people think their engagement party was a freebie.
"I'm not sure why the public seems to think it's cashing in… I don't know. It's just a false allegation towards us, saying that we've made money and we didn't, and Channel Nine as well. Even the reports that we got paid an early morning fee [to appear on Today Extra the next day] … No. I wish I did, I was so hungover."
"You kind of expect it, but nothing can prepare you for what the media does write about you, when it's completely made up," says Jules.
"I feel like their so-called freelance sources, it's like they've whipped it out of thin air and gone, 'Oh yeah, let's just say that they made $50,000,' and tell people that Channel Nine gave it to us. It's not true.
"For me, it's not about the public liking us, or wanting to see our relationship. It's just putting this fact straight, which is we did not make money from our engagement. That's end-of, really."
