WHAT IS IT?
The name 12RND comes from the idea of "12 rounds of boxing".
Each round goes for 3 minutes and an entire workout has 12.
You get a 30-second rest between each one, and you're all done and dusted in literally under 45 minutes.
According to science - this is the optimal duration for high-intensity training, maintaining the right balance between effort and results.
Going in, I wanted to become a fitter, better version of myself.
I knew it'd require effort and hard work. And I was ready.
I was someone that used to work out daily, six days a week.
Then tale as old of time, girl meets boy, girl gets a new job, girl eats so much UberEats and bids a fond farewell to lifting (unless it's a burger).
So, you can understand that I was more than ready to step back into the ring.
My first day, I was gearing up to smash it out of the park.
But boy, did I get a reality check. IT. WAS. HARD.
The guys at 12RND Newtown are bloody legends - and are very patient.
You can go in at any fitness level, and they'll alter the round so that it suits you.
Surprisingly, you only box for 4 or so rounds. The rest incorporates a mixture of weights and cardio.
I've said it once, I'll say it again - it was bloody hard.
But it was also AMAZING. One of the greatest finds of my life.
The 6 weeks was life-changing. Not only did my fitness level completely transform, I transformed.
Going in I could barely do push-ups (I had no upper body strength) and now I can do chin ups and box jumps!
I can't rave about 12RND enough. It's so incredible - I am now a member.
