According to reports byNew Idea, Fremantle Australia has forked out the bucks for the rights to the soapie and are planning to bring it back
"A well-placed television insider," told the publication that "The general idea of the show is that it will focus on a new generation of locals."
However, "Fremantle also want to bring back some of the original characters to give it that nostalgic element to it."
The multiple Logie Award-winning show which was based on the happenings of a rural Australian hospital, ran for 13 years between 1981 to 1994 and launched the careers of stars like Shane Porteous (Dr Terence Elliot), Lorrae Desmond (nurse Shirley Gilroy), Penny Cook(vet Vicky Dean Bowen) and Georgie Parker (nurse Lucy Gardiner).
