Model Ming Xi experienced every model’s worst nightmare when she tumbled to the floor mid-runway during the taping of this year’s show in Shanghai in front of 18,000 people.
Xi, who made her fifth VS Fashion Show appearance this year, wore an extravagant ensemble during the A Winter’s Tale section of the show, and as she twirled her chiffon train, the model slipped on the runway and fell down to her knees.
But Xi handled her embarrassing mishap with complete grace.
The model perched herself back up onto her knees, adjusted her gigantic floral headpiece and got right back up — with the help of one of her fellow models, of course.
As the audience cheered Xi on after her slip, Gizele Oliveira came out onto the runway next behind her, and stopped to help the supermodel collect her bearings, get back up and continue her walk.
After getting back up, Xi posed at the end of the runway like a pro, as if her fall had never even happened.
But don’t expect to see this moment in the final cut of the fashion show when it airs on CBS on November 28th at 10p.m. EST. Victoria’s Secret traditionally tapes two run-throughs of the show for this very reason, so the tumble will likely be removed from the final show.
It’s not uncommon for even the most experienced models to slip on the runway. Bella Hadid, who walked alongside Xi at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show the past two years, famously wiped out on the Michael Kors Spring 2017 runway last fall.
