Adam came from quite humble beginnings before making it on such a hit show – he was born and raised in Wollongong, on New South Wales’ south coast.
He worked as a construction labourer before pursuing acting, a decision that he kept from his friends due to fear he would be mocked.
“I told them all I was working overtime because I didn’t want my mates knowing I was trying acting because it was so foreign to all of us,” he said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph in 2018.
Initially kicking off his career locally, Adam scored his big break when he was cast in the third season of American series UnREAL, where he shot 18 episodes as August Walker, a character written as an Australian.
He went on to star in the original Netflix film, Falling Inn Love, in 2019.
Following that, the 36-year-old was picked to star in Sex/Life in March last year, with filming beginning in August 2020 after a COVID-19 delay.
Sarah, who plays main character Billie Connelly in Sex/Life, had only filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years, Steve Howey, a couple months prior to when filming of the show began.
The actress has three kids from her first marriage, two sons and one daughter, whose lives she keeps very private.
Speaking to People Magazine, she explained how she and Adam first met in a makeup trailer on the set of Sex/Life.
“I said, ‘well, that’s a tall drink of water’,” she explained.
“When I first met Adam, I was really blown away with him.”
The two embarked on a relationship and still seem to be very much in love, regularly posting about each other on social media.
“Not exactly sure how two people on opposite sides of the world could have more in common, were meant to meet, were meant to be together. But I do know I met my soulmate. I do know I found my forever,” Sarah wrote on Instagram alongside a bunch of pictures of herself and Adam for his birthday in May.
“I do know I’ve never loved deeper, harder, more ferociously. I do know I’m overly grateful for him. I do know I’ve loved him for a thousand lifetimes and will love him for a thousand lifetimes more. Happy birthday my baby ❤️,” she finished the caption.
“My forever and more.. I love you so f***ing much my baby ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Adam commented.
She also celebrated him on Valentine’s Day, calling him her "forever squeeze".
Adam made a similar post for Sarah’s birthday in January, writing “Happy bday my baby. I f*#kin love you. You’re everything,” alongside pictures of them apple-picking.
While things seem sewn up for this cute couple, the future of their on-screen romance as Billie and Brad seems to hang in the balance, with no second season of Sex/Life announced just yet.
The series, which was based on the novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men, has made waves for its intense sex scenes.
The sheer popularity of the show across the world probably means we will see this loved-up pair back on screens very soon!
