Both posts were flooded with supportive messages but fans and followers speculated that coronavirus restrictions played a part in their break up. While Taite is based in his hometown of Ballarat, Victoria, Ali has been spending a lot of time at her parents' Queensland property.
"I wonder if this is because of the talks of Vic being closed off to the rest of Aus for years, Ali might want to be with her family. Speculation obviously," someone mused on Ali's post.
"Maybe the time apart during the lockdown gave them both time to realise it," another suggested on Taite's upload.
"I think COVID-19 has changed so many people's lives," a third noted.
Ali and Taite also started their own fitness venture Sweaty AF together in Ballarat, and though both are still promoting the business on their respective Instagram pages, some fans reckon it was the straw that broke the camel's back.
When one fan commented on Ali's post asking about their new business, another replied: "Hope it wasn't because of differences in this regard. Running a business with a partner is sometimes risky..."
"COVID would've taken a huge toll on the both of you and the stress of Sweaty AF," another said.
WHO has approached Ali and Taite for comment.
Ali chose Taite at the end of season four of The Bachelorette. In the emotional finale Taite presented her with a glittering commitment ring to mark the start of their life outside the show.
In her first post after the finale, Ali shared a loved-up photo captioning it: "These past couple of months have been so hard, long distance relationship plus keeping us a secret plus how over the moon happy I am! I’ve never been more spiritually, emotionally, physically connected and in love. You light up my world beautiful!"
Taite's post was equally romantic and read: "You’re the reason why I have been so happy. Now everybody knows. I love you and I can’t imagine a day I won’t."
