Amanda Bynes has kept a relatively low-profile lately, and during her time away from the spotlight, she’s changed her hair.
On Wednesday, the actress was spotted for the first time in five months, sporting shorter, darker tresses. Dressed in casual attire and shaded with orange rimmed sunglasses, Bynes, 30, showcased her brunette ‘do while having lunch in West Hollywood, California with a friend.
The Hairspray alum was last seen in West Hollywood in July with long blonde hair and before that, Bynes celebrated her 30th birthday in April at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. She previously tweeted a selfie of her lob haircut in February.
After a turbulent few years, the former child star has rarely made public appearances. These past two years, Bynes has shifted her focus from acting to her budding fashion career.
In August, she surprised her 3.3 million fans and followers when she took to Twitter to share updates on her life post-Hollywood. “I’ve been really busy at FIDM, and I just finished my midterms,” Bynes wrote at the time.
She first enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) campus near Orange County in spring 2014 to study product development, and later transferred to the Los Angeles campus in October 2015.
“I am really loving school and I feel that I am learning a lot. I enjoy all of my classes and my teachers are excellent,” Bynes tweeted in another post. “I’m really appreciative of all that FIDM is giving me. I’ve been in school learning about the fashion business so I don’t have time to tweet.”
