James Weir, an entertainment reporter from news.com.au, went undercover for Alene and Simon’s wedding last night on Married At First Sight Australia.
Taking the low-key position of the bride’s hairdresser he quietly took a seat in the church to observe the couple’s nuptials.
Weir reveals the ceremony is 'even more uncomfortable' as it's carried out in absolute silence, with the producers later adding the music.
‘When the bride, Alene, finally makes an entrance, we stare at her as she nervously walks down the aisle in complete silence to marry a man she doesn’t know,’ he recalls.
When it comes to the ceremony Weir also reveals the bride’s attitude towards Simon’s appearance was not known, along with the psychic bridesmaid’s concerns.
While suggesting the entire situation was totally awkward, he goes on to reveal the producers shoot everything a second time through.
‘Alene walks down the aisle and “meets Simon for the first time” again.'
