As a self-confessed swing voter and agnostic, Andy admitted that he was initially “sceptical” of Morrison’s appointment as Prime Minister due to his “speaking in tongues” thing that he described as “sounding like gibberish”.
Andy then claimed he was determined to not judge based on ScoMo’s religion but the PM’s widely criticised blunder of holidaying in Hawaii with his family during Australia’s bushfire crisis in December 2019 put him offside.
“Your first discrepancy mate, was the bushfires, you know, the whole ‘Do you like pina coladas and getting caught in Hawaii?’" Andy said.
“And on that one mate I was like ‘Swing and a miss Scotty, Swing and a f**king miss, mate,’”
But, Andy confessed there was actually a point during the global pandemic that he believed ScoMo seemed to be navigating the situation well.
“Out of nowhere, as our Prime Minister, you began to flourish! And I thought to myself, 'This Cronulla Sharks, Maccas-eating, beer-drinking mother-f**ker is alright.' We were the envy of the world (except Victoria)! But we were the envy of the world!”
However, Andy soon changed his tune. Like many Australians, Andy revealed he has been left feeling frustrated at the delays in rolling out the vaccine in the country and the financial instability that can result from the country not yet obtaining herd immunity against COVID-19.
“Now Scotty, I’ve gotta be fair dinkum with you mate, you’ve dropped the ball again and it’s gone on way too long,” Andy continued.
“You see, I can’t seem to get any momentum with my acting and presenting work because all the corporates and businesses that engage me as an entertainer are forever cancelling at the last minute whenever COVID flares up.
“And as an actor and a person, this makes my financial and budgeting situation impossibly hard to schedule and prepare for an autonomous functional life. And yes, I know there are lots more other people out there living worse off than me but I’m just trying to give you a window into my f**king life.”
And as many people grapple with similar issues as well as the law all but banning non-essential travel, ScoMo is currently under fire in the media for his trip to Europe.
The backlash around the visit intensified when it was discovered Morrison embarked on “personal” side trips to explore his family history at the same time many Australians are banned from leaving the country unless they jump through hoops for exemptions.
Andy continued: “You appear to be providing a lot of excuses [for not rolling out the vaccines quickly] and no solutions. And once again, the absurdity of it - may I point out - you’ve just left the f**king country again! What’s up with that mate?”
Concluding his lenghty Instagram piece-to-camera that has since racked up more than 17,000 views, the Underbelly: Squizzy star strongly implored the PM to “hurry up” when it comes to rolling out the COVID vaccines to Australia
Otherwise, Andy threatened, it may be ScoMo forced to sign up for JobSeeker after the next election.
