Controversial sports star Anthony Mundine has once again caused a stir.
The former professional boxer has been slammed online after he stated that parents should not vaccinate their children.
Taking to Facebook yesterday, and again this morning, the sporting star publicly spoke out against parents who vaccinate their children.
The response was overwhelmingly negative, with Mundine’s initial tweet garnering 3500 and his Facebook post receiving over 900 comments, the majority of which slammed the star.
“This is a personal choice. My child had meningitis as a baby as it is a horrific think to watch your child go through,” wrote one Facebook follower.
“Using your public profile to promote no vaccine is wrong and stick to what you do best.”
“You have been hit in the head one to (sic) many times!” and “You’ve lost the last shred of any credibility with this ridiculous, ignorant tweet. Have you got a clue what this will lead people who believe you into doing ... and ultimately suffering?,” responded others.
Not prepared to back down on his opinion, Mundine once again tweeted this morning.
However, hours later the boxer appeared to back down, declaring he had been “too fired up” when he wrote the original post.
“I AM FOR informed consent and freedom of choice when it comes to all medical producers,” he posted on Facebook
