Prince Harry and Meghan christened their now four-month-old son in a private ceremony in July, inviting only a handful of guests including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (minus their own children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis) Harry’s father, Prince Charles and stepmother the Duchess of Cornwall, and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
The private nature of the ceremony – plus the fact the couple chose to keep the identities of Archie’s godparents a secret – caused public uproar at the time.
According to Vanity Fair, Isabel - the former director of communications for Burberry - was a natural choice as godmother to baby Archie.
The 40-year-old was introduced to the Duchess of Sussex through a mutual friend and Soho House director Markus Anderson.
"While they keep their relationship very quiet, Izzy is one of Meghan's closest and dearest friends and she values her friendship so very much," a source told the Mail on Sunday.
"She helped Meghan adjust to lift in London when she moved here, and Meghan relied on her a lot. They totally support each other and, like any other female friends, enjoy social activities together."
