The Queen's speech reportedly delayed
The Queen's historic speech has been delayed due to Prime Minister Theresa May's party coming to an agreement with the Democratic Unionist party, The Sun reports.
The annual speech takes place at the beginning of each Parliamentary year, with the Queen reading out the Government’s plans. The speech can not be changed last minute as it is written on thick goatskin parchment, which takes multiple days to dry.
If the Queen's speech is not given on June 19 as originally planned, her plans for Royal Ascot may be ruined.
The Monarch hosts the famous race meet for four days each year.
First Secretary of State has confirmed the delay.
"Until we have that, we can’t agree the final details of the Queen’s Speech," Damian Green said. "We know those talks are going well. We want to produce a substantial Queen’s Speech.”
