Of course, you ended up winning how does it feel?
I just really want to thank everyone who picked up the phone to vote for me cause it’s such a huge complement for a performer to have that recognition and to know that you connected with people.
You have changed people’s perceptions of pole dancing, what do you think it will mean for pole dancing now you have won?
I think it definitely has changed people’s perceptions of it and anyone who already does pole knows how amazing it is but people who haven’t tried it have those reservations of what it’s like.
But to be able to use it in such a storytelling way it shows people that it’s what you make it. It's literally a vertical piece of steel if we turned it horizontal, we would be doing gymnastics.
For me, I see all the possibilities that can be done with it and I’m not restricted thinking I need to do it in a certain way, I use it to tell a story.
What are you going to do with the prize money?
Well, I am going to split that with the visual artist, Ryan Talbot and with my half I want to keep creating those shows and to be able to afford a decent projector, its costly. I might also go for a sneaky weekend away with my partner, cause we have been so busy!
