You’ve also been called cocky and arrogant. Is that fair?
I’m just showing off my skills to prove I’m a contender and to make sure everyone knows that Superman is a challenge beast. When he pulls on the fluoro yellow Speedos that’s my signal to be super-outrageous and confident. That’s my Superman switch!
How does your softer side manifest?
My fiancée Johanna means the world to me. I went on Survivor to win the $500k so we can have the wedding and home of our dreams. We met when I was 25. Back then I was a pretty loose unit, but I transformed from a boy to a man when we got together.
I proposed on the first modelling job we booked together in 2017. Being apart from her for the show was the hardest thing I’ve ever done – and I’ve done some hectic stuff.
Is it true that you don’t sleep in camp with your teammates?
Yes. I didn’t feel comfortable spooning with randoms in the shelter, so I created a little riverside chalet for myself where I could be chill. Even Superman needs to rest!
