And now she’s confirmed in a new interview on WHO’s TV podcast Binge List that her past history with the footy favourite definitely worked to her advantage. The revelation – which will have fans wondering if she ends up winning Nick’s heart – comes as Cass has been portrayed in some quarters as 'lovestruck' by the star.
Giving some insight into what's to come on the show, Cass says that despite her initial reservations upon discovering Nick was The Bachelor, she felt their past connection ended up being a positive rather than a negative.
‘I think it was good because we had spent time together and had good conversations, and I got to know so much about him and vice versa as well,' she reveals. 'And in the house, the time is so limited with him and you don’t necessarily get to discuss those things - so I think it was a good thing [we knew each other].’
Cass admits she was fearful of the way the other female contestants would react to news of her connection to Nick, and she felt forced to be cautious about exactly how much she revealed.
‘I think I was pretty flustered with the whole situation, going into the house and not knowing it was him, and the fact we had a past history and dealing with all the other girls and figuring out what information to say and what not to say,’ she says in the Binge List interview
‘I had so much respect for Nick, I didn’t want to make the other girls jealous or make them feel uncomfortable by talking about the past history.’
Exclusively revealing more about their past relationship, Cass confirmed her ongoing interest in the star, and said their fling only ended because life got in the way.
‘It was just a matter of timing that got in the way,’ she says. 'It wasn’t really the right time. He was going away and I was also busy, and I definitely saw him as someone I could potentially be with, but the time wasn’t right.’
