But we're getting ahead of ourselves.
After Carlin scored the night's single date with Angie Kent – his second so far in the series – love rival Jamie was less than impressed (and that's putting it mildly), and determined to do something about it.
That 'something' was to tell Angie that night at the cocktail party that he believed Carlin was a fake.
"I am the eyes and earsin this mansion.I'm always watching,I'm always listening," the firefighter told the blonde bombshell, who had just spent a beautiful day on the water with Carlin.
"He walks around this place, peacocking, talking about beingthe 2020 Bachelor next year," he continued.
"I sense disloyaltyand I sense a snake in the grassand I sense that he putsthis 12-hour character on for you.He can't hold it up in hereover a month, and I see, day by day, cracks forming in his character.
"Right now, you see Carlinas a knight in shining armour. You do, right? And I'm just telling you that it's not what it seems. It's not the fairytalethat you think. I feel Carlin is here to furtherhis TV and his acting career."
Understandably, Angie was horrified.
"I'm in complete shock. My whole, like, tummy just sunk."
And when Jamie returned to the group, things exploded.
"I just had a chat with Angieand I told her who's genuineand who's ingenuinehere left in the mansion," he told the boys.
"It needed to happen.I needed to get it off my chestand Angie needed to hear it."
"Jamie is trying to throw meunder the busbecause he sees me as a threat."
Now, don't worry, because after a second of uncertainty over who to believe, Angie chatted to another hopeful, Timm Hanly, who confirmed that, no, Carlin had never said he wanted to be the 2020 Bachelor. (Well, not that he'd heard, anyway).
It wasn't the first drama of Angie's night, though, after she bid farewell to Haydn Trick following his big reveal that he doesn't want kids.
In perhaps the most amicable (and sweetest) goodbye ever, Angie and Haydn talked it out and agreed that they just weren't on the same page.
"I totally don't mindif you don't want to have kids, but I want to be a mum," she told him. "I think that you would bea beautiful partner. But I think if we both don't want...
"The same thing," he interjected.
"It's just...There's no point, you know?"
Aww. We're a little bit sad about this, to be honest!
"It's pretty clear that Haydn and Iaren't on the same page.I think we both know.I don't want to waste his timeor my time. I felt like we didn't have towait for a rose ceremony. Our futures just don't align,so I figured it was just importantfor us to say goodbye there and then," Angie said to camera.
"There's no hard feelings. It's just two peoplewanting two very different things."
