Dober, his Bachelorette mate Sam Johnston, and Bachelor alumni couples Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski and Richie Strahan and Alex Nation all got their groove on Wednesday night at WHO's Sexiest People Party.
“We’re so excited to be here," says Nation, giggling as Strahan ribs her for taking so long to get ready. “It took me five minutes,” Strahan tells WHO. “I just sit down and watch the transformation happen for Alex."
Replies Nation, “I don’t take that much longer! I have a great team. He’s great. He’ll have champagne or wine ready for me while I change."
For Johnston, a night out meant a chance to look smart. "There's no sexy during the week," he says. "I'm an electrician by trade, so getting up every morning and dressing in fluoros and getting dirty within 10 minutes of work, I don't think there's much sexy about that, but I try my hardest to make it work!"
Adds Dober, his normal look leaves something to be desired. "I think I just roll out of bed and pick something clean to wear and just chill out," he says. "I don't usually dress up. It's not really my thing. I'm normally a daggy kind of jeans and T-shirt sort of guy, so this is a whole different realm for me."
Within the party, Strahan and Nation unwound over espresso martinis, and Strahan caught up with Sam Wood, presumably comparing notes about their time on The Bachelor.
Of course, mingling at an event is one thing, but Johnston concedes fan greetings on the street leave something to be desired. "People just want to have photos," he says. "They don't really want to chat too much. They just want to take photos and ask me how it was and that kind of stuff."
Does he have a theory why? Johnston says, "I think they're just mainly surprised on how tall most of us are. They say, 'I didn't realise you were so tall.' We're such a tall bunch of 16 guys that…"
"…we all look the same on camera," finishes Dober.
