Beau Ryan makes a touching gesture for a dying fan
Former NRL player Beau Ryan has rushed to the bedside of a 22-year-old Australian woman who is suffering from late-stage ovarian cancer.
Kia Lettice was told that she had just hours to live on the night of December 7. While the news was emotional, her friend Mahalia Murphy took to Facebook to help make her friend's last wish come true. Lettice is a dedicated NRL fan who had asked for Greg Inglis or Beau Ryan to come see her as her dying wish, and Mahalia didn't hesitate to make it happen.
Mahalia speedily posted on Facebook in a bid to reach out to anyone who could make Kia's wish come true. "URGENT REQUEST!!! Any assistance to boost my friend up?" she wrote. "She is currently in Prince of Wales hospital and has roughly 4 hours to live as she's fighting cancer. She wants Greg Inglis or beau Ryan To come see her. If everyone can share this or get in contact for me this would be much appreciated."
A number of comments were made on the post, mostly of people tagging friends who had connections with the rugby stars. Beau Ryan, 34, then immediately contacted Mahalia and assured her he would be there as soon as possible as he needed to commute from a suburb in Illawarra.
He commented on Mahalia's post, "Leaving Shellharbour now! See you in two hours. Tell her to stay strong."
Following their meeting, Mahalia shared several snapsto Facebook showing Kia with Beau Ryan, and said that "the energy she gained from his presence was amazing".
She wrote, "Thanks to everyone for making this special moment happen Beau Ryan you are a true legend man. Can't thank you enough for this moment "
Beau Himself took to his Facebook page to share a sweet image with his fan and captioned it with a heart emoji.
