Josh Gad is already planning a Beauty and the Beast sequel.
The actor, 36, plays LeFou in the live-action adaptation of the Disney classic — and he jokes that the lovable sidekick and Gaston should get their own movie.
“I’d love to see a sequel to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast starring LeFou and Gaston,” the actor quips to WHO. “Gaston with a broken arm, and will probably be pushed on a wheelchair. The two of them travel Europe looking for other potential suitors for Gaston. Could be Weekend at Bernie’s-style — me and Stanley Tucci‘s character just holding him up.”
For his part, Luke Evans is on board, adding that it could also be a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off spin-off where Gaston is nursing a “broken heart, a broken ego” after Belle rejects him in favour of Beast.

LeFou’s trip to the big screen has been surrounded by controversy ever since director Bill Condon said that the character had a “gay moment” in the adaptation. Gad previously told PEOPLE that the moment in the movie teaches an important lesson central to the theme of the film: “Never judging a book by its cover.”
“What I would say is that this film is one of inclusiveness,” he says. “It’s one that has something to offer everyone.”
