In what can only be described as a story ripped from the soap opera scripts of Summer Bay, Bec Hewitt and Lleyton Hewitt first met in passing at a charity tennis tournament in 1999, six years before they started dating and got married.
According to an interview with Stellar, the two were dating other people at the time - proving that sometimes it's a case of meeting the right person at the wrong time but true love is something you just can’t ever control.
“We didn’t speak for six years,” Bec Hewitt told Stellar.
“It was only when both of our relationships had broken up [that] he eventually touched base in a text message to tell me something he was working on.”
