Ben Cousins has had a rough few years and now his ex partner has opened up about their relationship and how it was hindered by his abuse of drugs.
Speaking on Channel 7's Sunday Night, Maylea Tinecheff admitted that, "The drugs have destroyed him, he's a broken man. It's very sad."
The former AFL player, 38, was jailed for 12 months for stalking and breaching a violence restraining order after an appearance at the Perth Magistrates Court in March this year.
Cousins later pleaded guilty to 11 charges, including drug possession which was widely reported in the past and the aggravated stalking of his former lover.
Tinecheff spoke openly in what is a sneak peak of the full interview and in it she stated his behaviour was "extremely out of control" and revealed he had "paranoia, [sic] lies and stealing things".
She also admitted that Cousins had used drugs in front of her in the past.
Tinecheff gets very honest on the news program.
Tinecheff said that prior to his jail sentence, Cousins repeatedly stalked her.
"He would just turn up at my house in the middle of the night, banging on the door," she said.
Regardless, his former lover claimed that even though the two have been through a lot she still has feelings for him.
"The kids needs you, we need you. Just come home to us, Ms Tinecheff said.
Tinecheff and Cousins share two children, aged three and five.
