The Big Bang Theory Creators Confirm Young Sheldon End Date
The prequel story of Sheldon Cooper will come to an end after seven seasons.
It may have all started with a Big Bang, but the popular TV Series Big Bang Theory officially ended in 2019.
Although fans were devastated when the show ended after 12 seasons, the door did not completely shut on the world of Big Bang, with the prequel Young Sheldon exploring the world of the idiosyncratic Sheldon Cooper.

Sadly for fans, the world of Young Sheldon has also drawn to a close, with the show confirmed to be concluding following the finale of season seven on May 16, 2024.
"As a prequel series to one of the biggest comedies, Young Sheldon proved that lightning can strike twice," CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach told Variety.
"It set itself apart with a remarkable cast that felt like a family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought the characters to life with unique heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start... We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper send off with the best episodes yet for fans to enjoy," she continued.
Iain Armitage, who has played the role of Sheldon since the show began in 2017, took to Instagram to share his statement on the final season, writing, "In case you wondered, I love my family."
"There's about 200 people who make [Young Sheldon] happen and I'm grateful for each of them. We will make the best 7th season we can possibly make - and behind the scenes there will be lots of laughter and lots of tears because I love all of these people so much."
While news of both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon's conclusion may appear to indicate the final chapter of The Big Bang Theory universe, the show's creator Chuck Lorre announced in April 2023 that he was in the early stages of developing another series in the franchise.
A presentation at Warner Bros. Discovery's press day revealed that the new spin-off is currently in the works at HBO Max.
Whilst no plot or cast details have been announced yet, it is believed the new show will feature a new cast but offer the opportunity for known Big Bang Theory stars to appear in guest spots.
Following the news of the new spinoff series fans have speculated about what the new show could be about. Whilst many fans hoped the show would focus on one of the characters from the original show, such as Rajesh Koothrappali, it's unlikely since many of the actors haven't been keen to revisit their original roles and have not been open to becoming involved in any other series after their 12-year stint on the original show.
One popular theory is that the new show will focus on Paige, a re-occurring character in the Young Sheldon series.
Sporadically reappearing on the series, Paige is another child prodigy in Dr. John Strugis' class. The last few seasons of the series has seen her rebel after her parents split up and has dropped out of college - a drastically different path to Sheldon.
Big Bang Theory aired for 12 seasons between 2007 and 2019, garnering just under 18 million viewers for its series finale.
The show featured a star-studded cast, including Johnny Galecki,Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco, alongside Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, Mayim Bialik and Kevin Sussman.
