Each year fans can often gauge a potential winner on almost every reality show from the odds listed on betting sites like Sportsbet or TAB.
These sites have accurately predicted the winner of multiple shows like The Bachelor, The Masked Singer, and Survivor, and we’re certain Big Brother will be no different – so proceed with caution if you’re hoping to avoid spoilers!
While the Sportsbet odds have been shifting and changing rapidly, returning housemate and fan-favourite Reggie Sorensen (formerly Reggie Bird) has been in the top spot to win for weeks. She was briefly overtaken by Jaycee Edwards, but he has since been evicted.
Reggie now has winning odds of 1.42 and is followed by Johnson Ashak with odds of 3.00, then Taras Hrubyj-Piper with odds of 10.00.
Many fans of the show are loving having some of the original housemates back, but their numbers were seriously cut down in the leadup to the finale.
Fan favourites like Dave Graham, Tully Smyth and Anthony Drew were all evicted in the final weeks.
Even Tim Dormer, who some fans had pegged to win, was sent packing before the finale - though not before pulling off some masterful strategic moves.
Now only Reggie remains to represent the Big Brother Royalty housemates and she's eyeing off a chance at a second win on the show, after taking home the prize in 2004. Since then, though, she has seen many changes and challenges throughout her life.
While she’s re-married and had two children in the years since winning, she’s also had her fair share of health struggles, and is almost completely blind after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa a few years after she appeared on the show.
Her son, Lucas, who is 12, also suffers from cystic fibrosis, and needs constant care from Reggie.
“It’s a constant battle to try and get weight on him, so he has to drink supplements and have a diet high in calories and fat. I hope he will live past 37 years of expected time,” she told our sister site, Now to Love, of his struggles.
While we’ve been enjoying seeing the new housemates make their mark on the game, we’re also certain most fans of the show would love to see Reggie win again! We’ll just have to wait and see.
