Who will be the host?
So much speculation has been around over the past few weeks since the production company behind the show started taking applications for the 2020 season.
Original Big Brother host Gretel Killeen, season one contestant Sara-Marie Fedele and season three winner Regina "Reggie" Bird have all been thrown around. However, TV Blackbox reports that former Big Brother narrator Mike Goldman has not been approached.
Radio host Chrissie Swan, a former Big Brother contestant, has also put her name in the mix, saying she'd like to host the 2020 reboot.
“That would be my dream job,” Swan said during her Nova 100 Melbourne breakfast radio show.
“Truly I would love it. I’ve always said I would do that.”
During Weekend Sunrise, Killeen was asked if she was hosting the new season.
"As if I'm going to tell you that," Killeen told Basil Zempilas.
When asked if she would like to host it, Killeen skirted around the question saying that she thinks the show is "groundbreaking" but remained tight-lipped on whether or not she has been approached. You can watch the video below.
Where was the Big Brother house?
The Big Brother house from the early 2000s was built on a lot next to Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.
The show ran for 11 seasons across two television networks and after it was cancelled in 2014 the Big Brother house was left abandoned.
The hit show Big Brother was shot at the site for 11 seasons from 2001. Since its cancellation in 2014, the house had been completely neglected.
YouTubers MuiTube explored the abandoned Big Brother house in May that went viral due to the state of neglect the former TV home was in. The once-lavish pool was transformed into a swamp, the walls covered in graffiti and the camera wells were smashed to pieces. You can watch that video below.
A week after the video was widely circulated online a fire broke out near the Big Brother house. At the time Queensland's fire service said the house was not damaged in the fire. However, a spokesperson for the Queensland Investment Corporation, which owns the property, told 7NEWS.com.au the fire was deliberately lit at the property.
In June, another fire completely destroyed the Big Brother house on the Gold Coast. Four children, aged between 11 and 15, were charged with arson, while two nine-year-olds were released.
Two months later in August the house was demolished. The wreckage of the Big Brother house at the Gold Coast was cleared away, five years after the show's final season in 2014.
Where is the new Big Brother house?
Rumours are running rife about the location of the new Big Brother house since the Gold Coast location is now no longer standing.
The Behind Big Brother website reports that the new house will be located at Seven Network's Eveleigh studios - following the lead from Big Brother in the US where the entire house is on a sound stage. The site goes onto say that an empty Masters Warehouse could also be used.
However, 7NEWS.com.au understands that the actual location of the 2020 Big Brother house has not been confirmed by Endemol Shine Australia or the Seven Network.
How long will Big Brother 2020 run?
As with the location of the new house, the amount of episodes has not been officially confirmed by either production company Endemol Shine Australia or the Seven Network.
This hasn't stopped TV Blackbox from reporting that there will be 20 episodes and filming will begin in April. The television blog goes on to describe the new season of Big Brother as "Survivor in a warehouse".
When will Big Brother start?
There is no official confirmation from the Seven Network as to when the 2020 season will air, however, TV Blackbox is reporting that it won't air until August, after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
There is also speculation that the show won't be live, meaning no public voting, and housemates will vote to who they wish to evict each week.
Guess time will tell as more information is confirmed.
