'On Sunday we had the fright of our lives, in a public bathroom I had a really bad bleed & we were convinced that there was no way our little baby would make it after losing so much blood,' wrote Krystal, who is currently 13 weeks pregnant.
'I went to emergency and was told that I was most likely suffering an impending miscarriage. After having experienced this before I knew exactly what was to be expected...
That evening my heart felt like it was being crushed, I was mourning for another child that I had never met, I just couldn’t believe this was happening again. Then we decided there was nothing left to do but pray, our whole family placed their hands on my tummy and we prayed like our baby’s life depended on it!'
Krystal told her Instagram followers that the next morning she was due to have her 13-week anatomy ultrasound.
'I called my obstetrician and explained what had happened and they advised me to still attend the appointment. I sat in the waiting room of the imaging centre fighting back tears as we anxiously waited for my name to be called. I explained to the sonographer that I had lost the baby and Neil and I both held our breath as we stared at the screen. To our surprise there was a little heartbeat still hanging in there! We were so shocked that our little baby had survived! We believe it is nothing short of a miracle!!!'
So what next? Krystal says she's being 'cautiously optimistic.'
'We still aren’t completely out of the woods just yet, our doctors advice is to be "cautiously optimistic" and I also have doctors orders to take it easy! There are still some things that are unknown at this stage. We are scared but hopeful for our baby’s future and so grateful to God for our little miracle.'
