Fans called the moment "awkward", and body-language expert Blanca Cobb has shared her take on what happened with Cosmopolitan.
It was clear that while Kate and Will acted like cool cucumbers after the fact, Kate definitely didn’t want Will’s hand on her at the moment.
“The way she moved her shoulder, it was obvious she wanted it to come off,” Bianca elaborated.
Royal fans shouldn't panic, as although Kate wasn’t feeling the PDA it doesn’t immediately spell trouble.
“It could have been that one, she didn’t want his hands on her so she moved her shoulder to get his hand away. Or it could’ve been a surprise,” Cobb said.
“Maybe she was in deep conversation with the lady sitting across from her and didn’t realise he was doing it. Sometimes, when someone leans on you or touches you, you will move. It’s a reflex. It truly is a reflex.”
