The star broke her silence on Instagram following her win, after weeks of secrecy surrounding her appearance.
“After all this time.. I can finally stop keeping secrets about what I’ve been up too for the last couple of months. I AM THE BUSHRANGER!” she revealed.
“Being a part of @themaskedsingerau has been the most memorable and special experience for me on so many levels. The fact that I got to challenge myself for every performance, with the diverse choices of songs, the choreography and managing all of this while restricted behind the incredible costume!
“So lucky to have worked with such an epic bunch of people, who made everything so enjoyable and safe... we got to make a positive, friendly, fun show during this time to lighten up all of our lives.”
She jokingly apologised to her friends and family for being forced to lie to them about her appearance on the show.
“To the rest of my friends and family - I’m so sorry for lying to you guys over and over again ha ha! I am a shocking liar, you guys really tested my acting skills haha!”
Bonnie and Brenton first debuted their relationship on Instagram in August, just weeks after she confirmed she had split from her ex boyfriend Jordan Simi.
And judging by their posts, it seems these two found each other during the most unlikely of circumstances, during Melbourne’s stage four lockdown.
“You really are something else... Smiles and happiness all around #wheredidoucomefrom,” Bonnie wrote on Instagram about a month ago.
“Smiles & happiness to get through these difficult times! @bonnieandersonmusic,” Brenton wrote alongside a sweet couple snap, referencing Melbourne’s tough stage four lockdowns.
More recently, the pair have penned heartfelt dedications to one another on Instagram with more sweet couple photos.
“Better than my dreaaams @brenton_gold,” Bonnie captioned a recent selfie of her and Brenton.
Brenton also wrote about how he feels about forging a relationship with Bonnie during such a tough time.
“Feeling so lucky to have found someone so special in such a crazy period of time! Isolation, stage 4, lockdown, work sites shut.. all have been like water off a ducks back with you around. @bonnieandersonmusic #feelingblessed #isolationcreation #happiness,” he wrote.
