We’re directed to our Cider Suite with uninterrupted views across Orange and to the estates vineyards below. We are thrilled to find an open fireplace and an elevated sleeping area so the views can be enjoyed while we relax in bed.
We have our own private balcony, but we rarely need to use it because we’re comfortable inside the suite, gazing out through the tall glass windows that wrap around us. Behind the bedroom the modern, chic bathroom features a long, deep bath beside a window.
With an altitude of over 1030 metres above sea level, Borrodell is one of the highest vineyards and produces exclusively cool climate wines. They also produce cider and truffle and beautiful food featuring local ingredients at the Sister’s Rock restaurant on site.
In the morning, we enjoy a continental breakfast of cereal, juice, fruit, yoghurt and coffee – all available in our kitchenette. In the afternoon, after a day exploring Orange, two wallabies pop by to say hello before rolling around just metres from our balcony in a playful fight. Before we leave, we head to the restaurant to taste the Borrodell wine – reason enough to visit – and leave with a dessert wine to remember this beautiful estate at home.
