"I was very upset that my own mother would even do that to me," Seyat, 19, tells WHO.
"To make Jess leave me and have no one. I couldn’t sleep that night thinking how did she even came up with that idea."
In the Channel 7 relationship show, Melbourne mum Fatima calls 21-year-old Jess everything from a "slut" to a "whore", and one thing Jess complains about is that Seyat doesn't stick up for her.
"Look, being in that position is very hard," Seyat says. "My mum who raised me from a baby to now, she has done a good job. That’s why I love her. But then again, I love Jess so much. I love them both. They are the most important people in my life, that’s why I find it very hard. Being the person in the middle is difficult."
So will Fatima ever accept Jess?
"I don’t think my mum will ever change her mind. She’s a very hard women to change. But I guess in the long run, when she sees how serious me and jess are, maybe she will be like ‘oh, well I have no choice to accept them both as now she will be apart of the family’."
