Britney went on to detail her plans to lay low for the duration of her pregnancy.
"I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money shot of me like they unfortunately already have," she wrote.
She also explained that in the past, she had suffered from perinatal depression.
"It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible … women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret," she shared.
"This time I will be doing yoga 🧘♀️ every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love," she finished.
Despite Britney's concerns about the paparazzi and her mental health, fans and friends of the Baby One More Time hit-maker seem thrilled, and shared their support in the comments.
"Congratulations sis!! 🥳 I’m so excited for you!!😍 Love you!!!🥰," wrote Britney's friend, heiress Paris Hilton.
"Congratulations 💕🍾," added American TV personality Jenni Farley, better known as JWOWW.
"BRITNEY! Congratulations!!!! ❤️," added another fan.
"ALL THAT SHE WANTS is another baby!" wrote a fourth.
It's been publicly known for some time that Britney was hoping for another baby, but was unable to have one while under her conservatorship, which was only removed in 2021.
For 13 years, Britney was controlled by a conservatorship run in part by her father, Jamie Spears, which left her unable to live a normal life.
While giving testimony in court to prove the conservatorship should be removed, Britney detailed her desire to have a baby. However, she claimed she was unable to have a contraceptive IUD removed in order to do so.
"I want to be able to get married and have a baby," she told the court.
"I was told right now in the conservatorship I am not able to get married or have a baby.
"This so-called team won't let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don't want me to have children, any more children," she said of the IUD.
Britney got engaged to her fiancé, model and actor Sam Asghari, in September last year, shortly before the termination of the conservatorship.
She referred to Sam as "her husband" in the Instagram caption for the pregnancy announcement.
Sam and Britney have been together since 2016, when they met on the set of her music video for the song Slumber Party.
This will be Britney's third child. Her sons, Sean and Jayden, are 16 and 15, and live primarily with their father, Kevin Federline.
