Caitlyn and Kris got married in April of 1991 after five months of dating.
Together, they blended a family, with Caitlyn having four children already from her previous marriages, and Kris also having four from her marriage to Robert Kardashian.
They also had two daughters together – Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
“Our relationship is okay, but I think it could be better because of the kids,” she explained.
“It’s always the way, when you have that, it’s always about the mother and father, how they get along together, you know, is it good … is there any tension?”
“This is reality…” she said as she wandered off from the conversation.
While Caitlyn is reported to have a good relationship with the two daughters she shares with Kris, her relationship with the remainder of the family is allegedly strained.
While promoting her memoir, Secrets of My Life, Caitlyn revealed in 2017 that she hadn’t spoken to her step-daughter, Khloe, in two years, with Khloe reportedly feeling betrayed over some of Caitlyn’s choice words about Kris.
Kim Kardashian also had problems with claims made in the memoir about her father, Robert Kardashian, who famously defended OJ Simspon in his trial for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
“I’ve always had Caitlyn’s back, but she is a liar. She is not a good person,” Kim claimed.
Caitlyn also spoke about her other marriages during the chat with Bernard.
“From the time I was 23, I got married the first time, and that lasted like seven years, eight years,” she told Bernard, referring to her first marriage to Chrystie Scott, which began in 1972 and officially ended in 1981.
Chrystie and Caitlyn had two children together – Burt Jenner and Cassandra ‘Casey’ Marino.
“Got married pretty quickly after that, after we went our separate directions,” Caitlyn divulged. “[The marriage] lasted a little over four years.”
Caitlyn’s second marriage to actress Linda Thompson began in 1981, and together they had two sons – Brandon and Brody Jenner.
Caitlyn explained she remained single for six years after that, before beginning her 23-year marriage to Kris.
Since ending the marriage, Caitlyn has transitioned, and had been rumoured to be in a relationship with Sophia Hutchins, a fellow transgender woman.
However, Sophia claimed in June this year that their relationship is ‘parental’ and ‘familial’.
“I feel so blessed and humbled to be a part of such an amazing family and that she treats me like a daughter," Sophia said.
