“Let’s just say we know what we were getting ourselves into and there was an opportunity before the fight to pull out. At that moment if we wanted to we could say no we don’t want to do this but we both chose to glove up, put the helmet on,” Candice, 35, confessed.
“She tried to but she couldn’t land a punch. That’s the honest truth,” she added before asserting "ask anyone!"
When radio host Fitzy said it looked like Candice had the upper hand, the SAS star who is married to cricketer David Warne, said it was because she went in prepared.
“Well I trained, I prepared! It wasn’t about, we were all friends. It wasn’t just Roxy and I, I did what I was instructed to do,” she explained.
“I did apologise but it didn’t go to air. I was shocked by her comments and I’m really sorry that she feels that way. Contractually I’m still with Roxy to the end of November so for someone who really doesn’t like me I don’t know how she’s going to do that.”
Things only became more awkward when host Wippa asked if she and Roxy were talking to which Candice quipped: "Apparently not."
Roxy hit back at her haters after she voluntarily withdrew from the show in the show's premiere episode.
The entrepreneur lasted for six hours before bowing out due to an ongoing hip and pelvis fracture that she suffered from following a horse riding injury.
Roxy explained in an Instagram post that, following the accident, she spent six weeks on her back with "daily Clexane injections and physio, orthopedic surgeon appointments" and more.
"So if weak and pathetic is showing up to @sasaust7 because I had committed to it 6 months prior and put 6 days a week training into it no matter what my injuries were well then so be it," she stated.
"I think what it shows was, I had a commitment, I showed up and I tried my very best - which given the circumstances was a hell of a lot given my situation."
Candice and Roxy's relationship goes back years but their friendship made headlines following the Australian cricket team's ball tampering scandal of 2018.
PR queen Roxy was accused of orchestrating the emotional media frenzy that surrounded the Warner family returning back to Australia from South Africa but Roxy vehemently denied the accusations.
She was then spotted comforting Candice during a press conference David gave and told The Australian that she was simply supporting her friend during a time of crisis.
Speaking to the publication, Roxy stated: “Candice is a dear friend, thus my support, but I am not their PR.”
