Fresh off of her hosting gig at the 2017 CMA Awards last week, the 34-year-old country superstar fell on the steps outside of her home on Friday and suffered “multiple injuries” — including a broken wrist, her rep previously told PEOPLE. After initially receiving treatment at a local hospital for “cuts and abrasions,” Underwood went under the knife on Monday.
Thankfully, she’s well enough to tweet. “I just wanted let everyone know that I’m doing great,” she shared in a message to her fans on Tuesday morning. “Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well…even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on…I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who’ve been taking such great care of me."
Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher, whom she wed in 2010, traveled back to Nashville overnight to be with after the fall. “I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me,” she said in an earlier tweet.
The accident left Underwood unable to perform at Sunday night’s Country Rising benefit show held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. “Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes,” her rep told PEOPLE in a statement.
