On August 30, Brown was involved in a 10-hour standoff with Los Angeles police at his Tarzana mansion after a woman called 911 claiming he had allegedly threatened her with a gun.
He was released late that night after posting $250,000 bail, according to L.A. County jail records. Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos defended his client on August 31, writing, "Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes. Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy."
Though the timing of the new song coincides with his latest incident, this is not the only new track Brown has released in recent months. In May, he released the first official single, "Grass Ain't Greener," off his forthcoming album Heartbreak on a Full Moon. The last album Brown released was Royalty in December 2015.
A release date for Heartbreak on a Full Moon has yet to be announced.
