“People are shocked to hear that me and Dean never slept together,” she divulged, referring to her on-screen flame, Dean Wells.
“I was like ‘we never even kissed!’ How can I have had an affair with someone I’ve never spent time with?”
Davina went on to explain how she reacted to the edit, and the ensuing trolling from the Australian public.
“When it all came out and MAFS was airing, I didn’t leave the house for like three months,” she revealed.
“My parents were so devastated for me, and everyone, because I had all my friends and family at the wedding too. So, they say how it all went down, and how he [Ryan] was, and then when they watched the wedding on TV, they were like, ‘woah’.
“There was so much stuff that went down at the wedding that made him look bad, but none of it got aired, it was just me and my b*tchy bridesmaids,” Davina lamented.
She later took to Instagram to address how she had spoken about MAFS with Beau.
“For five years I’ve tried to put my time on MAFS behind me, and reliving it always makes me feel anxious,” she wrote.
“It was definitely a situation I wish I could have handled better, looking back, I could think of a million different things that could have been done better! It was definitely a challenging time to try and navigate through. But it’s made me who I am today…
“I am strong, I am resilient, I have grown tremendously as a person, and I’m so excited to show Australia ME.”
Ryan also spoke of his time on MAFS during his own stint on I’m A Celebrity.
“We were on the honeymoon, and we were intimate and stuff like that. It was all pretty flash. So, you sort of got lost in the moment,” Ryan said while on the series in 2020.
“And as we were flying back from the honeymoon, as we were landing, she [Davina] goes, ‘You know when we get back, we can meet other people and you can hook up with anyone’,” he explained.
“It was awkward, because you both have to hold ‘leave’ and she wrote ‘stay’ … because she wanted to be with Dean.”
He also made a joke referring to his experience with ‘cheetahs, e.g. cheating’, given Davina’s behaviour.
