Delta became a household name when she landed the role of Nina Tucker on the hit soap Neighbours in 2002. The following year, she released her debut album Innocent Eyes.
"There's a lot of graduates that I'm proud to say I was part of the Neighbours group no matter what era we're all in - there's a secret society!" she joked on the soap's 30th birthday reunion special.
But when she was just 18 years old and on the cusp of stardom, Delta was diagnosed Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“I shared a lot of my journey with the country when it happened,” she told WHO in 2020.
“I remember that when I was first told I had cancer, my body went into shock and I shook uncontrollably for the next 24 hours. The world as I knew it had completely changed.”
However, the golden girl decided to fight and turned to music to help her pain - her album Innocent Eyes topped the charts and scooped up a slew of awards in 2004.
“This was all about being a human and fighting for good health. Health is such a blessing that we shouldn’t take for granted.”
Currently, Delta is gearing up to release her new album and book of the same name, Bridge Over Troubled Dreams.
"When lessons learned have been my reward. The stories behind the lyrics of each song will be shared in my first-ever book…," she cryptically revealed on Instagram on Friday.
The singer-songwriter is also dating fellow musician, Matthew Copley and made a rare confession about him last year when they went into isolation together.
"It’s a relationship of respect. Matt is an incredible musician and we really enjoy working together. Music is how we met, it’s what we both do, so it’s really about just being creative in the household.”
