Donald Trump is not taking Meryl Streep’s attack on him lightly, tweeting in the wake of her Golden Globes acceptance speech that she is "one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood."
The 67-year-old actress was receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her 'outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment' and used her 6 minutes on stage to publicly slam the President-elect for being a ‘bully’ and mocking a disabled reporter at a rally back in November.
"Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence. When the powerful use their position to bully others we all lose," she told the packed auditorium of A-listers.
However Trump fired back over social media.
He also used the social media platform to call out the three-time Academy Award winner by saying that she was just a "Hillary flunky who lost big."
Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway also went after Streep while appearing on Fox and Friends Monday morning.
"My initial reaction is I’m glad Meryl Streep has such a passion for the disabled because I didn't hear her weigh in and I didn't hear her use her platform last night to give a shout-out to the mentally challenged boy who last week was tortured live on Facebook for half an hour."
Donald Trump’s inauguration to become the 45th President of the United States is happening January 20th.
