In the lead up to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first Commonwealth Tour to Australia, Channel Seven has acquired the landmark new ITV documentary series, Queen of the World.
The two-part series provides a unique insight into Her Majesty The Queen’s role as a public figure on the global scale as she passes her wisdom, knowledge and the baton to the younger members of her ever-growing Royal Family.
With filming spanning over a year and drawing on exclusive footage from the Royal Archives, the Queen, her clan—including the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Princess Royal and the Countess of Wessex— and their staff give us a rare glimpse into their lives as they continue to build the Commonwealth connection.
Directed by Matt Hill and written by Robert Hardman (author of the new book, Queen of the World), the series also shares The Queen's early years as Head of the Commonwealth when Her Majesty had the symbols of the then eight Commonwealth countries embroidered on to her Coronation gown.
Queen of the World Part 1 premieres Tuesday October 2 at 7:30pm. Part 2 premieres the following night at the same time.
