This isn't his first TV rodeo
Dylan has been involved in TV from way back. One of his first gigs was hosting Recovery, a music and youth-oriented program on the ABC that aired on Saturday mornings.
His presence on TV and radio landed him a gig on Celebrity Big Brother in 2002, among the likes of Kyle Sandilands, Warwick Capper, and Anthony Mundine.
So, it’s no wonder hosts Dr. Chris Brown and Julia Morris referred to him as ‘Australian TV royalty’ when he stepped out of the car the other night.
A win on I’m A Celeb would just be another line on his resume at this point, and we’re backing him all the way!
Is Dylan Lewis married?
Yes! In fact, Dylan seems to have one of the sweetest marriages of any Aussie celebrity, as his love for his wife Hollie continues to shine through after almost 20 years of marriage.
Dylan first met Hollie in the ‘90s, when she came along to a gig he was playing.
“Hollie was invited along by a mutual friend,” he told New Idea in 2019.
“When I saw her … I couldn’t see anyone else in the room. Hollie was the most beautiful person I’d ever seen. At the time, I said to myself and my bandmates: “That lady will be my wife and the mother of my children one day”.
The pair got engaged twice before marrying in 2002. The first was as a sign of commitment.
“First, we got engaged in Paris,” Dylan has said.
“But we didn’t tell anyone we were engaged back then, because we were so young and we didn’t want anyone to judge us.
“Then, a couple years later, I did an official ‘asking Hollie to marry me’. I bought a real diamond ring and we told everyone.”
The pair wed in February 2002 at Hollie’s mother’s house when the weather got the better of the day.
“In the morning, we thought we were going to get married on the beach but then it decided to rain sideways like a monsoon, so we panicked and moved the wedding up to the house. It was just beautiful. Hollie looked like an angelic mermaid,” Dylan recalled the day.
“I started crying and didn’t stop. All of the photos from our wedding look like I’m sad, even though I was the happiest I’ve ever been.”
And do they have kids?
Dylan Lewis is a super-proud dad to kids Rose and Jethro, and one look at his Instagram makes us think he might be Australia’s coolest dad.
Between their coordinated family Halloween costumes, his matching shirts with Jethro, and his constant claims of feeling proud of his kids, the love seems super strong in the Lewis family.
“Happy birthday to this amazing teenager! So proud of our Rose! So proud to be her dad!” he wrote on Rose’s birthday, posting a picture of her strumming a guitar, showing she clearly takes after her dad.
He also shares regular tributes to Hollie.
“Mums are magic. 🦄 Happy Mum’s Day to all the magic mums - especially my mums and this lady who is my beautiful Kween. Love you Hol. X💛👑,” he shared on Mother’s Day.
The reason behind his I'm A Celeb journey
Dylan revealed while on the show that his brother, Quinn, died by suicide 15 years ago. His chosen charity, Lifeline, reflects his loss.
“If you’re worried about someone or worried about yourself, you call Lifeline. You just do it, because the grief lasts forever. And I’m doing this for Quinny, I’m doing it for all my family, I’m doing it for anyone who’s ever been touched by this," Dylan told his campmates.
"If I can use this platform to help someone else not take their life, because you know – I’m sad every day…" he admitted tearily.
Dylan then took to Instagram, sharing a photo of himself and Quinn.
"This is me and my beautiful brother, Quinn. I think about him every day and love him every day and wish he was still with us. Every day," he emphasised.
"If you are worried about you or someone else, please call @lifelineaustralia," he added.
If you or someone you know has been affected by any of the issues raised in this article, help is always available. Call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or visit their website.
