Fast forward, and the 26 year-old model-turned renovator-turned Myer ambassador is still pinching herself - especially after appearing on her very first WHO cover last week.
“It’s pretty surreal actually, to think I’m on the front cover of WHO with these amazing, inspirational women that are absolutely killing it in their field,” Elyse says of sharing the cover with Carrie Bickmore and politician Julie Bishop.
“I’m up sitting there with them! It was a real ‘pinch yourself’ moment.”
This year has been a busy one for the model, who recently released her first book. She’s also about to begin renovating the home she purchased with boyfriend Josh off the back of their Block winnings.
“We have been working with an architect to do something pretty amazing. We are just waiting on council, which is a fun game,” Elyse says. “It will be good to do it all on our terms, in our own time, and create something that’s beautiful that we’re really proud of.”
And as for those persistent wedding and baby rumours?
“Do you see a bump in this dress?” Elyse jokes, pointing to her specially-designed Alex Perry figure-hugger.
“I don’t know why it’s on everyone’s mind - you don’t even have to get married these days. Like I said in the magazine, if I wasn’t doing what I was doing, I would have a baby now. But I’ve got big dreams to accomplish, and I still have a few more to tick off.”
