Fortunately, we’ve received our first look at the second season of Emily In Paris, with Netflix sharing a series of enticing photos and one official trailer - which you can watch at the top of the article.
When last we left off, Emily had secured her job back at Savoir, seemingly winning over her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) at last.
Emily and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) had just slept together for the first time, because he was moving to Normandy and that's as good a reason as any. But, at the last minute, he decided to stay in Paris thanks to Antoine (William Abadie) giving him financial backing to keep his restaurant open.
All the while, Emily had tried to be a 'good friend' to Gabriel's girlfriend Camille (Camille Razat), who probably doesn't love the idea of the two of them hooking up. Big yikes energy.
So, where are we at now?
From the looks of things, Emily is not exactly in a relationship with Gabriel – though she is still staring at him at any given opportunity. Instead, she seems to be falling for a new character.
According to a brief synopsis from Netflix, as Emily attempts to work her way through the messy love triangle with Gabriel and Camille, she will meet a charming fellow expat in her French language class. Mais oui!
Creepy McGee – also known as Antoine – is clearly still hanging around Emily, seen in one photo approaching her and Mindy (Ashley Park) at dinner.
Meanwhile, it looks like Sylvie is actually still not a fan of Emily, with the marketing queen seen giving her employee a harsh glare in one shot. Emily probably just said something like "we should go viral on TikTok" and Sylvie is plotting 101 different ways to make her death look like an accident.
Despite all the drama – and one scandalous affair – Emily still seems to be in a best-friend trio with Mindy and Camille. The girls are seen hitting the streets of Saint-Tropez together in the new teaser. And yes, that is a ruffled mullet dress with a plunging neckline that our dear Emily is wearing. To fashion, Emily continues to say: "I do what I want."
Emily In Paris Season 2 will air on Netflix on December 22, 2021.
