The Wiggles' Emma and Lachlan step out together after their split

The Wiggles stars Emma Watkins and Lachlan Gillespie are proving that their breakup won't get in the way of their work.

Just a few days ago the kids entertainers announced the end of their relationship after just two years of marriage, much to the surprise of their many fans.

Now, the former couple have stepped out for the first time since the announcement, as part of development for Emma's new show.

Emma and Lachlan, along with blue wiggle Field were at Macquarie University consulting with educators for the new Emma TV series.

The group were working on creating some inclusive cultural experiences for their fans.

Friends have come forward since the split to claim that purple Wiggle, Lachlan has been left devastated by his marriage breakdown.

"Lachy is absolutely heartbroken," a friend told Sunday Confidential.

"He was completely besotted by Emma and worshipped her and still does."
