WATCH the cast of the original recently got together for the CUTEST reunion.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Grease prequel titled Summer Loving is officially in the works and is set to focus on the two main character’s love story, and how they hit it off. Of course, we will also find out whether their romance was as saucy as Zuko claimed it to be, or if it truly was, according to Olsson’s account, a beautifully innocent love affair!

The film, backed by Paramount Pictures, will be penned by John August, the writer behind movies like Alladin, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Big Fish, so expect it to be epic. The legendary Temple Hill is set to produce the flick alongside Erik Feig.

Since the 1978 musical— starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John as high school teens from opposite worlds— was released, several remakes have been released over the years. Despite raking in $400 million at the global box office, the film’s 1982 sequel failed miserably, making just over $15 million at the domestic box office.

Despite the cringe-worthy follow up which no doubt disappointed fans, in 2016, Fox aired a live musical version of the hit flick which starred Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens and won five Emmys.

Despite the hype around the upcoming movie, at this point in time, the cast or release date are yet to be announced.
