The Slumdog Millionaire star, 35, announced the exciting news on Instagram, sharing a series of photos just moments after her boyfriend popped the question!
“It all makes sense now. Life makes sense, the world makes sense, the past tears and trials make sense, what wise old lovers said about love makes sense, where I am makes sense and where I want to go completely makes sense,” the 35-year-old actress gushed.
“You my love are just the most beautiful creation to have ever walked into my life. And you are here to stay. Well, I am making you stay. Ha! 😂 All my love with all my heart. Oh and Happiest Birthday sweet Fiancé!”
Cory also shared the same set of photos with the caption: “The best birthday present I could’ve asked for. Fiancé.👫”
The loved up couple sparked romance rumours in late 2017 and later confirmed they were an item at the US Open in September 2018. From 2009 to 2014, the beloved actress dated her Slumdog Millionaire co-star Dev Patel, 28. Thankfully, they ended on great terms with the Immortals actress saying they’re still “best friends”
“Everybody has their own little discoveries to make,” she said at the time. “Their own surprises, their own disappointments, and they’re all part and parcel of life. There is no way one person can sit down and go, ‘But why did this happen to me?’ Or, ‘It was all going well, what the hell happened?’ Or, ‘No, this just can’t be,’ the denial of it.”
