Bachelor in Paradise’s Alex Nation has ditched her signature blonde bob for a new flame-coloured hairdo.
Taking to Instagram to debut her stunning new strawberry blonde locks, the 27-year-old shared two photos of herself with the caption, “I’m sorry, the old Alex can’t come to the phone right now…”
The sudden change comes less than two weeks after the Bachelor star paid tribute to her ex-fiance Megan Luxa, thanking her for helping her explore her sexuality. The reality TV star shared a photo of the former couple on Instagram in honour of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
“It’s when I met you that something clicked. There was a shift within me and I knew everything was about to change in the most beautiful way,” she wrote. “You gave me a safe place to discover and understand who I am. You were there when it all made sense and you were there when none of it did. You allowed me to go through the motions at my own pace and explore my sexuality. I’ll always be so incredibly thankful for you! Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. We’ve come so far, but there is still work that needs to be done. LGBTQ+ I see you 🏳️🌈”
Before returning to our screens earlier this year, Alex— who rose to fame after winning Richie Strahan’s heart in 2016— revealed the real reason why she called off her engagement to her fiance.
Doing the press rounds ahead of her appearance on season two of Bachelor In Paradise, Alex stopped by Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa where she spoke candidly about her fractured relationship with Meagan, admitting that despite her love for the footballer, she needed more time to explore her sexuality.
“I remember rocking up to my first football training and there was something about her that was so intriguing,” she said on air. “I couldn’t control my feelings and I made it very aware to her that I liked her. Then when we were at the footy ball, I pashed her on the dance floor.”
Unfortunately, their relationship couldn’t stand the test of time as Alex wasn’t ready to commit.
“Everything was on fast forward,” she revealed. “It was super intense, passionate and beautiful. She proposed to me and at the time, I was madly in love with her so I said yes. But I think I freaked out and thought it was moving too quickly. I didn’t want to wake up one morning and be like, ‘this isn’t for me’. I said I needed to do this for myself and explore my sexuality.”
