Alex Nation and her fiancé Carson Jory were set to tie the knot this year after welcoming their first child together, but those plans have now been thwarted in favour of better timing.
The Bachelor Australia alum took to Instagram on Wednesday to voice her disappointment over her cancelled plans and revealed how they came to the decision.
“Recently, Carson and I made the difficult choice to postpone our wedding,” Alex penned in the caption.
“With so many other things going on and having projects underway that need a lot of our attention, the timing just wasn’t right for us to tie the knot this year.”
She went on to add: “Since making this decision, we have been flirting with the idea of an elopement/very intimate wedding.”
“Often saying let’s return to the scene of the crime, where we first met.. Croatia,” she wrote.
Alex’s post featured a scenic snap of her recent trip to Croatia – clearly a special place for her and Carson as they consider hosting their wedding there.
The pair announced their engagement last September, just weeks after welcoming their first son together, Maxwell Keegan Jory, in August.
Alex, who is also a mum to her 10-year-old son Elijah, sent fans into a frenzy when she posted a video of her gorgeous diamond ring to share the happy news.
“Morning coffee forever with you. 01.09.21 #mrsjory,” she said, sharing a series of snaps and one video of her glistening diamond ring in the sunlight.
It comes after the couple made their public debut back in December 2020, weeks before revealing they were expecting their first child, and Alex’s second.
With Carson stepping into the role of stepdad to her eldest son, Alex revealed the key to having it go smoothly is “working together” and sometimes having to make compromises.
“Elijah’s dad, step mum, Carson and I do everything we can to make things as easy as possible for all of us,” she told Now To Love.
